The immunosurveillance lab team in June 2024. We are a set of people with a passion for
immune cell biology, and a strangely common propensity to gravitate toward sports (esp. Badminton), painting, and cooking, in one form or the other.

Sudha Kumari

Principal Investigator

Sudha trained in cell biology with Prof. Jitu Mayor at NCBS, in immunology and immunotherapy-relevant  biology with Prof. Michael Dustin at NYU/Oxford and Prof. Darrell Irvine at MIT. Sudha is a strong advocate of interdisciplinary science and equity in science. When not doing science she loves to read classic literature, learn new languages, see new places, and go birdwatching.

Sayanti Acharya

Graduate Student

Sayanti got her Master's degree in Biotechnology from St. Xavier's College, Calcutta. Currently, she is investigating the (dys)regulation of  T cell activation in tumor contexts. She is a proud recipient of the 2024 eLife Ben Barres Spotlight Award. In her free time, Sayanti enjoys reading, dancing, playing badminton, and sleeping.

Aheria did her M.Tech. training at IIT Kanpur BSBE,  with specialization in Gene Therapy. Her work in the lab is focused on how defects in signal integration in T cells may contribute to autoimmune reactions. Her hobbies include traveling,  sketching,  and cooking (big time!). She loves cycling, Badminton, and dancing as well.
