The immunosurveillance lab team in Dec 2024. We are a set of people with a passion for
immune cell biology, and a strangely common propensity to gravitate toward sports (esp. Badminton), painting, and cooking, in one form or the other.

Recent_Kumari.jpg

Sudha trained in cell biology with Prof. Jitu Mayor at NCBS, in immunology and immunotherapy-relevant  biology with Prof. Michael Dustin at NYU/Oxford and Prof. Darrell Irvine at MIT. Sudha is a strong advocate of interdisciplinary science and equity in science. When not doing science she loves to read classic literature, learn new languages, see new places, and go birdwatching.

Sayanti got her Master's degree in Biotechnology from St. Xavier's College, Calcutta. Currently, she is investigating the (dys)regulation of  T cell activation in tumor contexts. She is a proud recipient of the 2024 eLife Ben Barres Spotlight Award. In her free time, Sayanti enjoys reading, dancing, playing badminton, and sleeping.

Aheria did her M.Tech. training at IIT Kanpur BSBE,  with specialization in Gene Therapy. Her work in the lab is focused on how defects in signal integration in T cells may contribute to autoimmune reactions. Her hobbies include traveling,  sketching,  and cooking (big time!). She loves cycling, Badminton, and dancing as well.

Priyobrata got his Integrated M.Sc. degree from NISER Bhubaneswar. Here, he is starting his scientific journey to explore the fascinating cell biology of antigen-presentation in the complex plot of solid cancers. When the lab coat comes off, you'll find him fuelling his geek fire with anime, movies, books, and captivating conversations.

Stuti Mukherji

Graduate student

Stuti got her Master's degree in Life Sciences from IISc and her Bachelor's degree in Zoology from BHU. Stuti is working towards understanding cytoskeletal regulation in lymphocytes. Stuti's hobbies include canvas painting and messing around with clay. She is a self-confessed bibliomaniac when it comes to fantasy or historical fiction.

Parinaz Shekri

Int. Ph.D. student

Parinaz completed her Bachelor's degree from Fergusson College, Pune. Parinaz's hobbies include art (sketching & painting), listening to music, and cooking (all of which remain to be validated). Parinaz is highly passionate about developing more effective immunotherapies. Her research interest in the lab is to understand and modulate immunogen cellular display for boosting immune response.

Anish Mukhopadhyay

Graduate student

Anish did his BS-MS at IISER Tirupati and originally started as a Master's thesis student in the lab with a passion for developing tumor therapeutics. Anish is an accomplished protein biologist and a "cells and chords" player. In his time outside the lab, he likes to play guitar and sports such as badminton. Now in his new avatar as a graduate student, Anish is delving deeper into targetable mechanisms underlying ovarian cancer progression.

Charu Prajapati

Graduate student

Charu completed her B.Tech from Punjab University, Chandigarh. She loves to combine computational approaches to biological questions, and as a joint graduate student with Mohit Jolly's group, Charu will investigate immune cell dynamics. Outside of the lab, Charu likes to apply nature walks to music listening experience, and vice versa.
